Kenny Slaught praises Hospice of Santa Barbara for its wide range of services aimed at those facing terminal and chronic illness, as well as their families. The Hospice has several initiatives dedicated to the needs of children who expect some dear to pass away, or experienced it recently. It’s known that before they turn 18, children see someone they love, die. Additionally, about 1 out of 20 children lose either one or both parents, before reaching an adult age. The programs for these situations are funded through donations, and one of the missions of the Hospice is to continue to offer them. Through these programs, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are offset.
