Santa Barbara has many amazing structures, like the old Hotel Virginia, historic El Pueblo Viejo district and the Old Mission’s pink towers that are often used for events. The County Courthouse features colorful murals, and the clock tower and observation deck offer a nice sight over the area. The 1873 founded Lobero theatre still hosts performances, and was rebuilt by George Washington Smith in the ’20s. These architectural buildings were only possible thanks to the city’s planner forward thinking.
